If that is important to you, then there are better choices. I find having apps on the player redundant since using the apps on my tv (LG77C9 Oled) gives better picture quality.

You want a 4K HD player to be the best at playing every kind of disc which this does. The apps are window dressing.

I recommend using the Roku Ultra (2020) for streaming from apps. The reason I recommend the Roku Ultra (2020) is because it also has the same HDR (HLG, HD10, Dolby VIsion) as this 4K player, yet it has all the streaming apps you will want. Why you would want a streaming device for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Vudu, is because of an audio receiver. Using the TV to stream apps, you will not be able to pass it through your receiver and play from your surround sound. Of course, if you do not have a surround sound system, then streaming through your TV will work fine.
