  • QuestionIs this bluetooth compatable?

    Asked by Craig.

    • Answer Hi Craig, Thanks for reaching out! We can certainly assist you with that. The UBP-X700U doesn’t have Bluetooth compatibility. If you’re looking to connect wireless headphones or speakers, this particular Blu-ray player doesn’t support Bluetooth, so you’d need to connect your audio devices using the available HDMI or digital outputs. We hope this helps! Thanks for considering Sony products! Best regards, Estefany

  • QuestionI recently purchased the Sony UBPX700U 4K player. The description says it's wireless connectivity is WIFI, but within the network settings it only shows 'wired' and there isn't an option for "Wireless setup" What am I overlooking?

    Asked by Jen.

    • Answer Thank you for contacting Sony, Jen. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. To clarify, the UBP-X700 model supports both wired (Ethernet) and wireless (Wi-Fi) network connections. However, the UBP-X700/U version is equipped only with a wired (Ethernet) connection and does not include wireless (Wi-Fi) capability. • QuestionDoes the UBP-X700U have WiFi connectivity? Best Buy website says yes but previous answers are conflicting on this point. Can Sony provide a definitive answer?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi there, The Sony UBP-X700U 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player does not have built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. It connects to the internet strictly via a wired Ethernet connection (LAN terminal) only. The confusion likely stems from the fact that its predecessor, the UBP-X700, did include built-in Wi-Fi. The UBP-X700U is designed as a disc-focused player with mandatory wired internet for firmware updates but without the wireless streaming capability of some other models. Thanks for choosing Sony. Best regards, Eliab
