  • QuestionThank you for your answer Sony but you kinda side stepped the answer. I'll ask more direct. Will the CD player play a COPYRIGHTED Disc with DRM. I have a 1000 discs that either can or can't be played on this. VERY IMPORTANT before I purchase.

    Asked by Bluespower.

    • Answer I know there will be some issue I haven't considered, but let me try to put this to bed. I was also confused by a review comment that suggested this Sony wouldn't play off-the-shelf copyrighted CDs. I HAVE THIS SONY at home. I popped open the disc changer and took out my CR-R recorded disc which had played perfectly. And then . . . I dropped in an original CD from Lady Gaga. From the store, copyrighted, factory labeled and now in the Sony CD player. All 14 tracks played perfectly. I swapped in a CD labeled and packaged and copyrighted, commercial disc of the Fray. Played perfectly. Yes. The Sony plays commercial discs. I can only assume they are DRM protected, but these are your basic, store bought discs. I haven't bought more recent releases, but I can't believe they are different. Hope this helps.

  • QuestionHow many watts is it?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hi, thanks for reaching out about the wattage of the MHCV71. We do not disclose wattage and here is why. Over the years we have seen posting such numbers results in a spec contest. Specs, and yes even watts can be measured in different ways. For example, receivers take a look at the wattage, then see a number of speakers driven, and distortion rates. All of which vary greatly. Also, watts do not tell you how efficient the drivers are, or any of the components that help the speaker sound great. Thus, telling an incomplete story. Know that as an audio-loving company, Sony strives to give you the best sounding speakers. I hope this helps. Erin

    Asked by Chuck.

    • Answer Hello Chuck, Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately we do not disclose the wattage. However, the V71 features MEGA BASS for a deep, punchy sound. Additional information: Over the years we have seen posting such numbers results in a spec contest. Specs, and yes even watts can be measured in different ways. For example receivers, take a look at the wattage, then see number of speakers driven, and distortion rates. All of which vary greatly. Also, watts do not tell you how efficient the drivers are, or any of the components that help the speaker sound great. Thus telling an incomplete story. For the MHC-V71, this High-Power Audio System features a splash-proof panel and easy tilt and roll for portability. Not only is this speaker great for music, but it also features football mode for a new type of game-watching experience and connections for easy guitar or mic for karaoke. Be sure to download the Sony Music Center app to control your music and sound settings, & the Fiestable app to take charge of karaoke and speaker lighting features To give you party a boost you can also pair up to 50 of the V71 and with Taiko Game mode put your rhythm to the test. I hope you find this information to be helpful! - Romeo
