Yes it can be disconnected, but obviously, only do so if you have another mouse already installed and working. To Disconnect your touchpad: Click the start button Click "all programs" right above the search bar. Click "VIAO Control Center" (itll have an icon of a laptop with a gear in themid to upper right hand corner) Click keyboard and mouse (third option down) Click touchpad (second catigory) From there, several options are presented. if you have another mouse installed to your computer already, you can click the first option with a box and a check mark in it that is next to the "Enable the touchpad" Once you have clicked the check mark, your touch pad will still work, so you have to click "Apply" wich is located in the lower right hand corner of the window. this will disable your touchpad, and will no longer responde to touches until the touchpad is turned back on (by clicking and putting a check mark in the box again" MAKE SURE you have another pointer device installed. Im not sure what happens if you do this process and you dont, but I Imagine that once you click apply, you will not be able to do anyting with your computer because you have to click stuff to install a mouse, and without a pointer, that cannot be done.
I would recommend:
