• I don't know about the iPad air but I just tried it on my iPhone and it works. The headset base is plugged into electricity and the headset is fully charged. I plugged the "headphone" jack (also on the base) into my phone. I then put on the wireless headset, turned it on, turned up the volume, and voila...sound. It seems to work well up to about 15-20 feet away from the base before getting a little bit static-y. Hope this info is useful.
