I have my rlear speakers connected via blue tooth (sony soundbar settings to receive). Paired speakers with soundbar. I have soundbar connected to tv via hdmi arc connection (tv hdmi3). Haven't tried connecting rear speakers on home network. Works great. Without knowing more about your configuration, don't know.
