Yes, the phone can accept SIM cards. It can accommodate a memory card and you can download apps to it.

It uses a MINI-SIM (not a micro or a nano) so for such a small phone, it was a surprise it uses a large SIM. I had to use an adapter. It has a memory slot too. I have a 32GB installed.
