We recommend using Sony | Music Center to set up the speaker for the Party Connect function. Make it epic.     • Answer Hi Gymrat, We would be happy to answer this question for you, the Sony XV800 X-Series Bluetooth Portable Party Speaker does not have the ability to be placed on a speaker pole stand due to not having the fitting hole at the bottom, the speaker on the other hand has the capability to be placed horizontally and vertically. Placing the speaker in the horizontal orientation automatically changes the audio output and the audio is output from the top two tweeters. We hope this information helps. Regards. - Dominick

In this case, you need to turn off the TV sound volume. The microphone audio is not played back from the TV through the optical input; when used without the TV Sound Booster feature, music and microphone audio played back from the XV800 will not be delayed (approximately 5 ms).
