If the headphones are on, and aren't picking up the TV, then your TV is NOT Bluetooth compatible... HOWEVER...
There are ways around this...
1. Purchase a Bluetooth adapter for the TV (available at any electronics store or online)
2. If you have any Roku device (either already installed with TV, or just a Roku box, Roku has a feature where you can download their app on any phone/tablet, and enable 'private listening.' All you do is have your headphones connect to the phone/tablet, obviously make sure the Roku app is connected to the TV/Roku box, and the private listening feature will allow you to watch TV with audio playing through the headphones.
