Does the case hold a generation 1 pencil or just 2 null

I'd say gen 2 only as it relies on the magnetic connection of the pencil to keep it in place.

Gen 2 only. Not really a holder. It just has an open area to accommodate for the gen 2 pencil which attaches to side of iPad.

Just generation 2 pencil. That’s the only Apple Pencil you can use for this iPad Pro so that’s the only pencil it can hold
