No it is not, but the plastic helps. If you drop it, it could help stop damage. But i wouldn't throw it down. I would recommend that you look for a hard cast with a rubber guard around it..

Yes it's supposed to be. I bought it about two months ago and love how tight it goes on the phone. My phone fell once and it just bounced and nothing happened to it. i recommend it because it's not a thick case but very good.

This will have impact drop protection.
