Most Polycarbonates have BPAs which are needed to make the material. Toxicity should not be an issue if the parts are not used to contain food, or drink. Speck’s products are well within all current regulations for the latest requirements for health and safety for all our materials. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not mean that using a product will cause cancer/reproductive harm. The purpose of the warning label is to inform consumers that a product contains a substance that the State of California has listed as causing cancer or reproductive toxicity, generally based on laboratory tests using many hypothetical assumptions, including significant exposures to the substance over long periods of time. The warning does not mean that the product contains high quantities of the substance or that it would result in significant exposures or will cause cancer or reproductive harm. The warning is intended to inform consumers that a product contains a listed substance, not that the product is unsafe or that it violates any other health or safety rule.
