“Will the Apple Pencil charge when the iPad and pencil are stored in the Speck case?? They are seperared by about 1/2inch”

No it doesn't charge the pencil, we had to order a different case.

It seems they did a redesign. I picked up this case tonight after looking at the photo here. Before, the slot for holding the pencil, was on the opposite side of the camera, thus creating an issue. The Apple Pencil 2 charges on the right side of the iPad Pro, not the left. Speck went back and put the "holder" on the right, or camera side. It now charges the pencil when not in use AND holds it pretty secure
