Th case wraps to the sides of the phone. So if it falls flat, the screen is safe. And yes, you can plug a portable charger.

Please try again later.It appears to be waterproof; it covers the back and the front perimeter of the phone (I had great shock absorption per my review) & I’m not sure about the portable charger because I’m sure how they hook up to the device but I am able to to charge it with the regular adapter while the case is on.
