• Yes the older Mac with the CD port is bigger then the newer Mac that is slimmer without a CD port.

• This case will cover any retina macbook pro 13 inch. Every retina model from 2012 and up have the same body style and dimensions. This will not however cover the 2012 non retina macbook pro and older.

• Mac Book Air Cover is the precise fit for the cover I purchased. Each Mac item is size sensitive and I read all data before I make any purchase since I would rather measure twice and purchase once.
