• The case leaves all the ports uncovered, but just barely. If the footprint of the drive goes out further than that, then it won't fit.

• The Smartshell Case leaves the USB C ports fully open so you can plug in accessories without removing the case. If an accessory is designed to sit completely flush against the side of the MacBook you may notice a little extra space because of the case edge but most standard cables and adapters will still connect without an issue.
