A:AnswerI believe the case would withstand a small drop but may crack if dropped from waist high but will atleast save the computer from being damaged which is its overall purpose anyways. The case is on my girlfriend's laptop and she is not gentle and the case still looks brand new. Her laptop bag also helps the cushion which I imagine your kids bookbag would possibly do too.
