No. I had the original smart case Before that did. This one does not. I have to physically push home button or allow it to time out to sleep.

Yes, it has the Apple Smart cover functionality.

The keyboard does fall asleep when you don't use it for a few minutes. it takes about 3 seconds after a keystroke to wake up and reconnect. At least that was my experience.

I do not have product (folio) but noticed many advertise as fitting ipad pro 9.7. Apple put the sleep/wake magnets on opposite side of ipad air 2. This may be why the case fits but does not sleep/wake. Also the speakers are 4 for the pro 9.7 vs 2 on the air, and the camera shape is different from the ipad air 2 as well. I use for class an ipad pro 9.7 and an ipad air 2. I am still looking for a nicer looking case than the apple offerings. Hope this helps.

There is a plastic snap that doesn't seem to put the iPad to sleep. You'll have to use the settings to time the shutdown.

No. Why would a case have a sleep/wake function? That would be a function of your tablet not the case protecting it.
