I've had no such issues with my machine, but I also took a few steps to make sure this won't happen: 1. Updated all drivers and BIOS to latest version. HP has an automatic system to do this. 2. Remove McAfee 3. Switch the slow Synaptics touchpad for a Precision driver. You can find instructions for this online.
