This laptop can only be charged through the USB-C port. There isn't a finger print reader. Do not understand "open up the vents" as the vents are on the bottom of the computer. If you fold it over into a tablet mode there will still be a space between the bottom of the computer and the lid - gap is set by the same stand-offs that the computer sits on when used in normal format.
