same exact unit. you can use either the band or your phone. worth getting the combo. future uses of the band to come out. savings worth it.

Yes you can and I highly recommend buying the combo droid and wristband. I purchased the combined package and it works well both with the band and without. In addition the band works separately and has many games independent of bb-8.

The one with the Force band is the better deal right now. You can operate the droid with an Apple or Android device AND use the Force band to have the droid follow you, or back away.
