Can the filter be replaced with a HEPA filter? null

Not certain about the answer. The unit has 2 filters which need to be cleaned every 2 weeks (recommended). I'm not sure how you would substitute a HEPA filter(s).

I don't believe so. Depending on your situation, cleanse the Washable Air Filters every other week, or so and you should be fine.
