Is the pull out shelf metal or plastic? null

The front of the shelf is plastic; this has the handle built in. The shelf itself looks to be matching white MDF (medium density fiberboard). The rails on which the shelf slides are metal.

Not a plastic it's more of a laminate almost like hard treated wood. Okay but the handles plastic and it rides on metal tracks so there you go.

Combination of plastic/wood/metal.
