• Yes it does. I’ve been using it since January of 2022 and it hasn’t failed yet. I’m using a 1tb ssd

• We have not specifically tested the adapter with the PS5 so we cannot confirm compatibility. However, the PS5 does support external storage via USB as long as the drive being used is at least 250GB and not more than 8TB so the adapter should work. Please be sure to check directly with Sony for any other possible limitations when using external storage. Brandon, StarTech.com Support
