• The USB3S2SAT3CB is a USB 3.0 adapter whereas the USB312SAT3CB is a USB 3.1 Gen 2. Both adapters are designed to support 2.5" SATA drives. Brandon, StarTech.com Support

• The USB3S2SAT3CB works great with the Samsung 870 EVO 500GB. I bought this cable to clone and transfer (using the Samsung Data Migration software) from old hard drive to my new Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SSD and it worked flawlessly.
