There are loads of apps available that offer lots of free streaming content. Even subscription apps offer free viewing of some content. Your choice whether you want even more and decide to subscribe to something. After more than a year with Roku, I have plenty of interest to watch without a subscription. That said, "No, there is no fee of any sort unless you elect to subscribe to pay content."

Please try again later.You can use the features that Roku gives you and you can download for free movies TV shows there's a lot on there but if you want to buy HBO, Netflix Hulu stuff like that you would have to pay a monthly fee but there's so much on regular Roku you might not need to have a monthly fee
