Your Roku stick will only work on the T.V. that it is installed on. And, yes, with new stick, you will have to pair it with the Roku you have plugged into T.V.. Also, if you have sound bar, sometimes that will argue with the stick.

When setting up your Roku Streaming Stick + you have the opportunity to pair the included remote during the initial setup and activation process. Once this simple pairing process is complete and a direct wireless connection is established, you will not need to point your remote directly at your Roku device when pressing buttons giving you the flexibility to install it behind a wall-mounted TV or another nearby, out-of-sight location. Each time you add an additional Roku streaming player or Roku TV™, you need to set up the new device and link it to a Roku account. If you use your existing Roku account, streaming channels you have added to the Roku devices already linked to your account will be downloaded and installed on the new device automatically. In addition, a feature called Automatic Account Link will automatically sign you in to any supported subscription channels that you have already logged into on your existing Roku device.
