“What is the fastest shutter speed this will sync with?”

• I bought my children this model of Sunpak flash. They've had great success with them. One uses a Nikon, the other a Canon. Both dslrs. To answer your question, the design of the camera or lens being used will determine the fastest shutter sync speed. Older film-type slrs synced at 1/60th sec due to the focal plane shutter design. Cameras and lenses that use the copal shutters sync at higher speeds. In theory, this flash should sync with whatever speed the camera /lens specifies. The newest technology such as mirrorless slrs are unknown to me. Good luck.

• The previous answer was correct. The sync speed will depend on what camera you are using. Most Nikon DSLRs will have either 1/200 or 1/250 second. This flash does support high-speed sync, if your camera has that feature. This would allow the shutter speed to work with the flash up to 1/4000 or 1/8000 second, but only if your camera supports HSS or FP Sync, as Nikon calls it.
