The cameras can be remotely accessed and controlled using the Swann Security application for free right out of the box. Swann does offer subscription plans if you need extended warranties or added features for storage. - Answer Hello.Gadawg. Thank you for your question. This system supports up to 8 cameras. You can select the "Enable 8 channel mode" from the system's menu to pair a combination of NVW-500CAM & NVW-800cam Wi-Fi camera or NVW-600CMB wireless on the same system. Hope this helps. LV-Swann Team

QuestionWill this system work with the Swann security app? I had Swann NVW-800 and the app will not work. Not sure if the app is working now or was it the system.

Yes, this system works with the Swann Security app, it's actually the same NVW-800 NVR model inside both kit options, the only thing that changes between the 1080p & 4K versions of this kit are the camera models. Did you have your original NVW-800 successfully connected to the internet before pairing it to the app? With this NVR you have the choice of running an ethernet cable between the NVR and your router, or you can connect it via Wi-Fi instead if you prefer. - Answer Thank you for your question JR. Yes, you can choose whether you want the spotlights to be motion activated or not from the NVR's menu. You can customize this for each camera, meaning that you could have lights on some cameras but not others if you wish to. -SD, Swann team
