Q: QuestionI have an older SwannView system with some 5Mpixel cameras. Can I use those cameras instead of the ones provided or are they not compatible?

• A:Answer The Older cameras will work, but the quality of picture is limited to the Camera. If the Old Cameras use a BNC connector an the same style of power plug, then just unplug the old an plug in the new Cameras. Do replace the power supply for the new cameras will need more power an the old power supply may not handle it.

• A:Answer Take your time do not be in a hurry an you can get through it. I would recommend to often save the settings so if you make a mistake you will not lose much of your settings. It does follow a simple logic of setting things up. Also the 24/7 Tech support is great at giving you a click by click help if you have any issue's! They can also assist you in making corrections once your hooked up to the internet.

• A:Answer It does not. It functions without internet. You can view and playback recordings via the box. However, if you want to have the ability to view the cameras while away from home/place installed, you do have to have internet.

Q: QuestionIs the system able to be used outside of the US? I am looking to use it in a country where it would need to be run off generator most of the time as the electricity is not 24/7.

• A:Answer Actually it runs the unit an each Camera off of 12VDC. If you have a means to charge a 12VDC Battery like a car battery then you can cut off the transformer of the power cords an then connect it to the battery. Just make sure you observe the polarity of each wire. for you must make sure you do not swap +/- leads. The total current draw is less than 5 amps this will run off of a car battery for more than a day. Then just hook up a battery charger to charge the battery when you have power.
