Question#1 Do you have to connect your system to the Internet? Will it record and store without an Internet connection? Mobile phone or device alerts and viewing is of no interest to me #2 How long does it take to start recording when motion is detected?

- Answer Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. This item does not require to be connected to the internet for the recordings to be saved onto the hard drive. Internet is required when remotely accessing your unit via mobile device/computer. Once heat or motion is detected within the range of the PIR sensor, the camera will begin recording immediately. QuestionWhen it records. Does it record full time or only when motion is detected? Also, can you rewind and fast forward through the recordings or is it more like the night owl cameras where you can only click on a date and specific time and have to watch?

- Answer It can be set for either record full time, or only if motion is detected. You can fast forward and rewind throughout the full day of your choice.

QuestionI need this security set up without internet, I have a desktop computer but no internet can the dvr play back on my computer screen and how much storage is this dvr. Thank you in advance

The recorder can be connected to your laptop/monitor using the HDMI cable for playback. This recorder kit comes with a 1 TB hard drive. QuestionI am looking for a camera for my Mom's house. I need to be able to live view her, motion record so I can look back to see if she's eaten and taken her meds. (Dementia). She doesn't have internet at her house. Does the DVR only work with internet?

- Answer The audio input is for external microphones. You are able to add these if you would like but it is not mandatory.

- Answer The DVR is able to record 24/7. The unit comes with motion detection as a defualt setting. You will ned to change this in the DVR settings.

QuestionDoes the motion detection recording function through a glass window? Can the IR be disabled to prevent glare from the glass?

- Answer Hello, The nature of PIR sensors is that they detect warm moving objects. Given that glass is quite a good insulator, it actively blocks this heat from the camera's PIR sensor and so the sensor cannot detect motion even though you can see movement happening. The IR lights on the front of the camera reflect back at the lens when behind glass and make it very difficult to see what is happening outside a window. If needed, the IR lights can be disabled. QuestionI have a Swann 2K SWDVK-445804WL-CA I got for use with NO INTERNET. I only want to record on harddrive, playback and erase. I downloaded the manual but there is no instruction for even simple actions without internet, ie. Rewind, FF, erase. HELP!

QuestionWant to have a live view of our front door for a continuous whole hour during a church service. We want to view this on a flat computer monitor without it going dormant. We would be hardwiring this to the Swann DVR. And then connecting the monitor. OK??
