Hi Nicholas. On the back of the doorbell there is a USB-C charging port. If you want to run the doorbell on its internal lithium ion battery you just need to plug it into a standard USB charger to charge the battery. You'll typically have to do this every few months depending on how busy the doorbell is and therefore how fast the battery drains. Alternatively there are terminals on the back of the doorbell which you can connect low voltage doorbell power wires to if you prefer. Many American homes have these wires at the front door already and they can provide a trickle charge to the battery so that you don't need to charge it. Unlike some other better known doorbell brands, Swann do not charge compulsory monthly fees to use our products. With this doorbell you get 1 day of rolling free cloud storage forever plus 32GB of local storage for free. If you want more days cloud storage we offer optional subscriptions via our Secure+ plans, you can learn more on the Swann website. - SD, Swann Team
