The battery is secured to the frame with a keyed lock, so you can remove it to take it inside to charge it if you'd rather not bring the entire bike in. Since it just snaps off and on, I see no reason why you could not replace the battery if necessary, provided the company is still in business and you can get the replacement battery. Hope that helps.
