It works with my old 27 in CRT TV as well with my new Sony x900h. Just read the instructions and use the right DVD output and TV input, a Best buy for the $

Please try again later.IF, and that is a big IF, you can get it to turn on, it does have the 3 RCA outputs (red, white and yellow) that can be used if your set has the input option. As to the remote question, the one I purchased never worked with or without the remote so I am unable to speak of the universal capabilities. The unit remains in the trunk of my car waiting to be returned once Best Buy reopens and it is safe/allowed to go in public for non-essential activities. I hope they take it back given the time delay for return. Be well and stay safe!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never had cable or internet. It is very easy to set up to conect; however, I use both (tv & dvd) remote. I did not set up one remote control to turn off my tv and dvd but i believe it can. I have an antenna to watch regular tv shows and when i want to watch movies i use my tv remote and change input. Then use my dvd remote to control dvd or press buttons on dvd box.
