• you apply the card to a phone number and if your plan allows you to use the phone outside of the country then you are good of course the rates may be different

• Only their most expensive plans and postpaid with credit check would work abroad. The cheapest you can go with some international features is the $30 plan exclusive to another retailer where you get 100 minutes/ unlimited texts with free international texts too/5GB LTE. But texting per se is useless as you have a plethora of apps that will deliver the message faster and won't use a lot of data.

• T Mobile will roam in Canada but the roaming charges is very expensive in Canada ($3/min for voice call). Better to buy a cheap sim card in Canada annd use an unlock phone
