The SIM in the box is not pre-activated. If you get the pre-paid month to month service set up on the phone at best buy, there will NOT be an activation fee. If you need it for post paid services (billed to your house after you use the service), then you would have to take them to a T-mobile store and, yes, that $35 activation fee will apply.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You still have to pay an activation fee unless you already have an active line and this is just a replacement phone. You can sometimes get the activation fee waived but that depends on the rep you get.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I installed the sim card for my Nokia Lumia 530 myself but had it activated at the customer service department at the Maplewood store and there was not an additional fee. Even if I activated it myself, there wouldn't have been a fee. Nice!
