A:Answer The basic answer is yes.
The more complicated answer is that it really does depend.
This lens is over 4 lbs. handholding it for any period of time is tricky for the strongest shooter. The forward balance you’d see on a smaller body like on the 5000 series will make that worse.
You will want to invest in a monopod, which is not a huge expense.
Also, for this range, you won’t find anything lighter. So, there aren’t any better options.
The other potential pitfall is that the f6.3 lens will mean that the camera will need a little bit more light than on a 5.6 lens. But, it’s only 1/3 of a stop, if you’re already happy with the low light performance, just remember, you’ll need to bump your iso by a third of a stop. But, if you were stopping down to get sharper images, this will be a moot point.
