Yes it is. I purchased this lens for my Canon 70D APS-C camera and have not had any issues. Since you are asking this question I'm assuming that you are like me and not a professional photographer so I wanted to offer some advice. While I am very pleased with this lens I am not sure I would buy it again. This lens is BIG and HEAVY! If you envision purchasing this lens to take to your kids sporting events or going on a hike you are in for a surprise. I typically go to my kids sporting events and sit/stand with my camera in a ready position or even watch some of the game through the lens so I can get pictures. My first outing with this lens was eye opening, I found it was not long before I couldn't physically hold it up any more and I'm a 6' 1" 195lb guy who works out regularly, not a gym rat but no slouch either. I had a monopod that I rarely used before but if I'm taking this lens out the monopod comes with which is an extra piece to think about and carry. On top of that I had to get a new camera bag, my old bag could not fit this lens even when disconnected from the camera. I got a new bag that would work but it was a cheapo, trying to keep costs down because I just bought this expensive lens right, and after a few outings the weight of the lens was causing the bag to rip out at the bottom. So I had to splurge for a $160 bag that I could count on to hold up to packing this lens around. So my advice to you is to consider the f/4 version of the lens (Tamron A034). Or at least use a lens rental place and try the f/2.8 lens out before you buy so you know what you're getting into. I mean as far as performance, image quality, focus speed I couldn't be happier. This is by far the best lens I've purchased and I really don't like using any of my other lenses now which are the Canon 18-135 f/3.5 - 5.6 and 55-210 f/4-5.6. I've attached a few of my favorite shots with this lens. In short I think this is a fantastic lens for studio work which I don't do. As a lens to carry with you not so much. In hind sight I wish I had purchased the f/4 lens, that version is almost 2 pounds lighter and fits in my original camera bag no issues.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
