• I have a Vaio and it works great. I don't think there is anything proprietary and it seems people are using it with Dells and Apples as well.

• It should be compatible with any laptop version. It recommends that you have 1 USB 3.0 port to function properly however. The main thing is the version of the OS you are running.

• Yes, any Windows PC (or OSX MacBook) and any monitor with DVI, VGA, or HDMI.

• I have one monitor Viewsonic plugged into the HDMI and another LG monitor plugged into the DVI. Had to go in and adjust the monitor views in windows so I could see stuff where I wanted it. Laptop monitor (touch screen) still works too!
