Is this for the 2017 model? null

Yes, this is for the new iPad Pro V2.

The 2017 models will be out in September. I bought mine last month which is a 2016 model. This case fits it perfectly. It's a very good case. I also have this case for my IPad Air

It fits the current version of the iPad Pro 12". There hasn't been an update to the model since it was introduced in late 2015.
