As far as my experience you can connect this with your phone with your Bluetooth etc there are apps obviously available on here and you can download apps however I use another device that I plug into the HDMI with my own apps that I use but on the Android side it's very helpful because you can basically add your contacts everything from your phone would be connected through your television if that's something someone wants to do it's optional you don't have to do it and there are also updates for the television that automatically come through has an Android device
