“I just purchased a TCL 50 class 5roku tv and I cant seem to be able to change the channels with the remote(i have attempted using the up and down arrow keys) I can change tv channels my cable remote, but using 2 remotes is inconvenient”

The Roku TVs won’t support changing cable box channels but can be used for volume. I don’t think there is a solution to this because of the other functions of the Roku remote.

Many Universal and cable box remotes can be programmed to control select features on the TV. You can visit https://support.tcl.com/us-remote-codes for more information.
