• Yes. That's what I do, so I can point anywhere with the remote. It pairs with the TV using Bluetooth or RF. You don't need to aim at the IR!

• Hello Troublemycat, Yes, you should be able to add a remote in the Roku OS by Navigating to: Settings -> Remote & Devices -> Set up new device -> Remote -> Continue. Then follow the on screen steps to re-pair the voice remote to the new Roku TV. Hope this Helps, TCL Social Support
