“The TCL charging instructions say to "Only charge with certified USB adapter DC 5V". Does it really need a DC adapter. I was hoping to use my phone charger or plug into my laptop.”

It is recommended to charge with a certified USB adapter DC 5V. However, you can use any standard micro-USB cord to charge the headphones. Hops this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
