It depends on how far you have to run the electrical cable. I had to run my electric about 20 feet and 6 gauge wire was required

If installing for maximum power, use minimum 6 AWG, 90° C-rated copper wire for conductors. I used 4 AWG on both hot leads and 6 AWG for the ground.
