“Is this a remake or a remaster? In other words, are they changing any part of the story from the original game? Or is it essentially the same story and gameplay from the PS4 remaster just with improved graphics and loading times?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remaster they just used the new engine from Last of Us Part II, and they moved it over to the old game. It looks really nice, but if you have the PS4 edition I wouldn't bother unless you're a big fan.

Though when playing on the hardest difficulty the enemy AI is noticeably mor intelligent than the original. You can definitely tell its rebuilt just on accessibility options alone.

New gameplay elements have been added, better AI for both enemies and allies, motion-matching, tweaked map aesthetics for current gen standards. The story is the same and the map design is the same.
