Remaster they just used the new engine from Last of Us Part II, and they moved it over to the old game. It looks really nice, but if you have the PS4 edition I wouldn't bother unless you're a big fan.

It is weirdly both a remake and remaster. A decent visual upgrade but same mechanics and same story. Though when playing on the hardest difficulty the enemy AI is noticeably mor intelligent than the original. You can definitely tell its rebuilt just on accessibility options alone.

It is a remake. It has been rebuilt in the new Naughty Dog engine. New gameplay elements have been added, better AI for both enemies and allies, motion-matching, tweaked map aesthetics for current gen standards. The story is the same and the map design is the same.

It's a remake, BUT they are not changing anything except that Joel has been replaced with a pregnant black crippled trans female woman.
