“If this blower was mounted on the roof would it need a cover to be weatherproof? As shown on the photograph, it would appear to need some kind of additional cover or protection from the elements. This question has been asked before but not answered.”

This blower is designed to be installed either on a wall or on a rooftop using a roof mounting plate, so I don't think it needs any protection to be weatherproof. The photo shows the enclosure with the intake opening facing up and the exhaust on the right. When mounted on a wall, the intake would be facing the wall to connect to the ducting and the exhaust facing down. When roof mounted, the intake would be facing down to connect to the ducting and the exhaust would face the lower side of the roof.

Please try again later.the blower is mounted on the side(inside) of the roof with the exhaust end pointing out in our case. it can be mounted on the side wall in the attic as well. if you intent to put it on the roof then you will need some sort of covering to prevent water and all to sip in i guess.
