• Yes it can. It works with any hard drive or SSD with data connection 2.5" or 3.5". I currently have two 256GB SSD pglued in as I use them as back up.

• Yes. This dock will fit most any size internal hard drive or SSD. I have had luck even with 1.8" drives, but they are rather loose. This also fits my server drives which are a little larger than standard size.
