When using this device I find that it will not always shut down using the "SAFE TO REMOVE" function. I have left it connected and shut down all apps but it message "still in use" will sometimes not allow it to be shut down. Under advice from others, I have just powered down the computer and it goes through the normal process and shuts down without any apparent problem. I then power down the docking device. On subsequent start ups I boot the computer then churn the docking station on as needed. It has worked without problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can do either depending on preference. Make sure you eject the disk via software prior to physically removing a disk to minimize data corruption issues. In macOS removing one disk causes loss of communication of both disks.
