Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ATX Form Factor Almost all current desktop and tower PCs comply with the Advanced Technology eXtended (ATX) form factor, and power supplies that fit in them are also branded “ATX.” If you’re building a PC, finding out your case’s form factor is easy—it will be a specification prominently listed on the seller’s Web site. If you’re replacing a power supply in a prebuilt PC, however, it might require a call or an e-mail to the PC maker’s support personnel to verify.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Dell XPS 8300 and installed the Thermaltake SMART series 650W Bronze Power Supply. You'll have to bend metal and maybe move some cables to get it into the case because it's a half inch longer than the one you are replacing. But it's doable if you fasten it with screws because you'll have to flatten the metal tabs that held the old power supply to install it. You'll have plenty of connectors including 4-pin molex. Read the instructions, though...you'll probably have to snap off part of one or two connectors to fit the motherboard connections. But the connectors are made for doing that so it's straightforward once you see what the motherboard receptacles require.
